Chokhi Dhani Village is a true representation of Rajasthan and its ethnic culture, established in 1989, located in the Suburbs of Jaipur. The moving realities of Chokhi Dhani village is the village fairs conducted every evening, so well organized for one to feel a real Rajasthan in everything held at the fair, particularly the folklores and dances in the improvised platforms positioned here and there.
One feels a Rajasthan village at Chokhi Dhani, with large number of huts laid in the traditional way, a real rural living, with no artificial manifestations, but with true warmth and hospitality, and with the village market place with a photo studio for the innocent villager to smile as one poses for a photograph.
Live dance and music performances are held on all the evenings which are very special with Chokhi Dhani Village. The single act of folk artistes of the land invited to render performances, not only helps entertaining the visiting guest, but has also rejuvenated many of the arts and crafts that were on one step to decay, amidst modern ways of entertainment. The visitors too join the dances and music, enjoying themselves with the village crowd, hardly winning their temptation to be so.
There are many other shows, such as magic show, acrobatic show puppet show etc, while the village astrologer, the street side fortune teller with his parrot coming up to say what will be one’s luck, are all features that make the visitor spellbound.
The well grown artificial forest with its inmates raising roaring sounds and fearing but brave tribesmen, with large lakes for boating, pathways for horse riding, camel riding, elephant riding etc and many other things are there taking one to Rajasthan way of living and enjoying the environment.
